ARCA RACING SERIES PRESENTED BY MENARDS
FRIDAY, AUGUST 1, 2014
KIMMEL AT POCONO: Saturday’s ModSpace 150 will mark Frank Kimmel’s 44th career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. Over a span of 22 years, Kimmel has recorded 3 wins, 21 top-five and 31 top-10 finishes, in addition to six poles. The 10-time champion has completed 94% of laps competed and led a total of 340 laps.
ROUND TWO AT THE TRICKY TRIANGLE: Just two months ago, the first ARCA Racing Series event took place at the 2.5-mile triangle. And this week it’s time for round two. In June, Kimmel and the Ansell-Menards Toyota started from the sixth position and brought home a seventh-place finish.
CHASSIS INFORMATION: Kimmel and the No. 44 Win-Tron Racing team will utilize Chassis No. 12 this week at Pocono Raceway. This chassis was last used by Mason Mingus in both ARCA Racing Series races at the Tricky Triangle in 2013. Mingus, led by Kimmel’s crew chief Mark Rette, started second and finished sixth in both respective events.
YEAR IN REVIEW: Through the first 12 races of the 2014 season, Kimmel has captured five top-five and 10 top-10 finishes, while completing 99.5% of laps competed (1750 of 1759). Kimmel’s highest finish came in the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway when the No. 44 Ansell-Menards team claimed a second-place result.
INDIANAPOLIS RECAP: One week ago at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Kimmel and the Ansell-Menards team fought a tight-handling Toyota Camry for the first three-quarters of the 200-lap event before surging to the front of the field to finish in the third position.

CATCH THE ACTION: The green flag for the ModSpace 125 at Pocono Raceway will wave shortly after 5:15 p.m. Eastern on Friday, August 1, with live television coverage on FOX Sports 1. ARCARacing.com will also have live timing and scoring throughout the entire week.
FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT: Frank Kimmel on racing at Pocono Raceway… “I’m excited to get back to Pocono for a second time this season. Last week in Indy, Mark (Rette) and the guys worked hard all day and we ended up getting a great finish. We are going to keep trying to rack up the points and see how this championship shakes out.”
“I haven’t driven this particular car before but Mason (Mingus) and Mark had success with it last season. I don’t see why we can’t run up front and be in contention for the win again this week. That’s our goal.”
